On the eve of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, International Institute of Disaster Management (IIDM) had organized a Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Resilience on 12 October, 2019 at India Habitat Centre (IHC), Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The key objective of the conference was to knowledge sharing on issues pertaining to DRR and Sustainable Development with due consideration on Climate Change related issues. This conference was an attempt to engage stakeholders on these issues and take it forward with responsible agencies at national and international level.
Inauguration of conference was Performed by Chief Guest Hon’ble Justice Sh. S.S Chauhan , chairperson , Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, New Delhi . Padma Shri Brahmdev Sharma ‘Bhai ji’ Performed a Presidential Address, Prof. V.K.Sharma , Vice chairman of Sikkim, SDMA, Lt . Gen. Shri R.P. Sahi, Vice chairman, UPSDMA and Representative of High Commission Uganda and Rawanda was a guests of Honour . Dr.Meeta Singh ,Chairperson Cum Managing Director Of IIDM , Mr. Satyendra Singh (I.A.S) Retd. Chief Consultant , IIDM and Mr.Vidhu Shekhar, International Operations, who spokes about Changes in Earth’s Climate and express deep concern in this context and shed light on their efforts.
Closing Session was performed by Chief Guest “ Padma Shri K.K.Agarwal “, Cardiologist and Ex-President, Indian Medical Association .
